Pronunciation of dio was confusing

The speaker said dió rather than dio.

Just a tad confusing although it probably happens in everyday speech.

Hola Vince

This sentence means: Yesterday, my neighbour gave me... (Ayer, mi vecina me dio...)

There isn't a written accent on the "o" because it is a one syllable word, and it follows the rules for accentuation; the pronunciation is correct, it is stressed at the end, the way it's said in the audio: [dió]

I hope this clarified it.

Saludos
