My Baselang teacher said was only for excuses

I wrote a sentence using this format for a Baselang class and my teacher (from Venezuela) said it didn’t sound right except in the context of a list of excuses.

It depends, you can see these as complaints for example:

Mi vecino es horroroso, que si pone la música alta, que si no paga la comunidad..., siempre hay algún problema con él. 

My neighbour is awful, he plays music very loud, he doesn't pay the community fees.., there's always a problem with him.

Or it could convey a series of reasons, for example:

Los ecologistas no dejan de quejarse, que si estamos destrozando los bosques, que si las emisiones de gases...

Ecologists won't stop complaining, we're destroying the forests, what about gas emissions...

It will depend on the specific context.
