The lesson addresses masculine singular nouns but not feminine singular nouns.
Would we say:
El guiso lleva mucha salvia.
OR Comiste mucha coliflor.
Thanks.
I’m confused, is there another way to determine when to use a direct or indirect pronoun? Eg, how do you apply “for whom, to whom” in this sentence:
Me explicó su porqué pero no le creí. She explained her reason but I didn't believe her.
Muchas gracias,Shirley.
Hi there!
What are the other pronouns? What if we want to say: "They like the train"? Do those pronouns follow the rules of the reflective ones? So, is it: "se gusta el tren"?
Can you clarify rules please. I thought cuando + subjunctive was used for something that would happen therefore you needed a future tense or an imperative and not a continuous present as in estamos ahorrandothanks julie
Are anda and vaya interchangeable when used to express surprise?
I think trifle is British English. Can someone tell me what it means in American English?
Regarding this quiz question:
Tengo estos dos pares de botas, ¿________prefieres?
The answer is “cuáles” which means that “par” is plural, and not singular as in English. Is this correct? In general, when do we think of groups as plural?
Also, how does this affect general usage? Do we say, “los par son bonitos”? Thanks.
Would a better translation be "it would be good if the bank gave us the loan" ?
I am a bit confused here. Below are two responses which I got wrong. In both cases the "hint" is that it is a "future idea". So why should one of them be indicative and the other subjunctive? "Even if you don't want to" I put in the subjunctive because there seemed to be a bit of doubt, and that was marked wrong. "Even if you do extra hours" I put in the indicative because it seemed that that was definitely going to happen.
I think this is a very complicated and nuanced piece of grammar so I would appreciate some help, thank you.
PS I tried to include a screenshot of my answers but the system wouldn't let me.
